Suicide Squad. Written and Directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury) and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Cara Delevigne and Joel Kinnaman.

I left the theatre dumb founded by some of the negative reviews I’ve been seeing as this movie was everything I wanted it be - fun, funny, action packed and very entertaining. Ayer did a fantastic job with a genre very unfamiliar to him all while keeping the DCEU style and continuity alive.

- Will Smith as Deadshot was awesome, and proves he can still work in an ensemble cast. He brings a lot of humour to the movie and he has one scene in particular that gave me goosebumps it was so perfect.
- Jared Leto blew me away as Joker. He doesn’t have a lot of screen time, but every time, he steals every scene and leaves you wanting more.
- Margot Robbie completely owned Harley Quinn. Her performance was perfect and the chemistry between her and The Joker, again, just left wanting more.
- Jai Courtney was actually really good in this movie. It’s crazy what a good director and and good script can do with a bad actor. He shares a scene with a particular Justice League member that made me actually clap in the theatre.
- Viola Davis is very menacing as Amanda Waller. She’s one badass woman and is a very strong presence throughout the film.
- Cara Delevigne and Joel Kinnaman play The Enchantress and Rick Flagg respectively. These two share a lot of scenes together and play well together. Cara didn’t have a lot to do besides look possessed but she still did a good job. Joel was also very good. He has the most character development throughout the movie.

Overall I thought Suicide Squad was very entertaining and a lot of fun. It certainly hasn’t deserved the poor reviews that the “critics” have given it. My only advice: form your own opinion. Don’t let someone who is paid to see movies tell you it’s bad. Suicide Squad was awesome, with a couple special cameos and a nice mid credits scene, it was everything I hoped it to be.

This review is almost exactly what I think about the movie. The only thing on here I’d like to add is:

*The plot’s flow was kinda weird (and that made me seem like the movie was way shorter than it actually was.. Is it just me or do you have a feeling that the whole character introduction thing was long af and then the actual movie plot was like half an hour? That’s what I mostly mean about “weird plot flow”, even though I liked the introduction very much it was too long for a 2 hour movie.. Or at least they made it seem too long)

*Joker had way too little screen time and the “boss battle” at the end was kinda meh.. kinda anticlimactic for me.

*I also expected a better villain (it wasn’t Cara’s fault. She did alright, but her character didn’t fit in for me, I guess)

*The comedy wasn’t forced like in a lot of action / superhero movies they make these days and I really liked that. It was actually funny

*One of the best movie soundtracks I’ve heard in a while

Suicide Squad has all these little flaws but it also has a lot of cool shit and overall I’d definitely see it again. I also, like you, don’t understand why the hell the critics spit all over this movie, but I don’t give a shit about their opinion in this case. This movie is clearly one of those where you don’t have to look at the reviews and grades it got, and just watch it for yourself to see if you like it or not. Simple as that

joker suicide squad movie opinion review cinema good movie soundtrack plot fuck the critics don't trust a hoe
